The Environmental Analyses Section highlights for FY 1985 include management and analysis of national data sets developed to assess the impacts of acidic deposition on lakes and streams, analysis of the effects of watershed characteristics on the alkalinity and pH of headwater lakes in the Adirondacks, completion of a 4-year study of the ecological risks of synfuels-derived more » toxic chemicals, development and demonstration of a new method of setting remedial action priorities at contaminated sites, and assessment of cumulative impacts of small hydropower development on watersheds in the eastern Sierra Nevada.
The Earth Sciences Section has verified the effectiveness of remedial actions to reduce /sup 90/Sr escape from Solid Waste Storage Area 4 by one-half.
